Acupuncture Treatment

Acupuncture is a non-pharmaceutical therapy valued for safety, efficiency, accessibility and a low side-effect burden.

Acupuncture is one of the oldest therapeutic methods in Chinese medicine

Acupuncture is one of the oldest natural therapies in Chinese medicine. Its basic action is to stimulate meridians and acupoints with fine needles and moxibustion, helping harmonize yin and yang, regulate organ function, move qi and blood, and support the body's healthy resistance. On one hand, acupuncture helps regulate functions that have moved out of balance; on the other, it supports the body's resistance so it can respond more effectively to pathogenic influences. Needling uses fine needles to stimulate acupoints and meridians as part of a Chinese medicine approach to prevention and treatment. Moxibustion applies the warmth and properties of mugwort at body-surface acupoints, allowing heat to penetrate through the meridian system, and is an important part of acupuncture and moxibustion care. With modern technology, low-level laser acupoint therapy can stimulate acupoints without needle puncture, supporting meridian flow and yin-yang regulation. Clinical use of low-level laser stimulation is understood to support local circulation, tissue response and inflammatory regulation within an appropriate treatment plan. It may also support metabolism, tissue recovery and cellular function, and is used clinically across a range of Chinese medicine treatment contexts. Because laser acupuncture is non-invasive, it avoids needle puncture and may be suitable for older adults, young children or patients who are sensitive to needles when clinically appropriate.
