Chinese Medicine Nasal Care
Chinese medicine views nasal conditions through constitution, lung and spleen function, and environmental influence.

Nasal conditions can be persistent and may affect broader wellbeing
Nasal conditions can be difficult to resolve because the nasal tissues are complex and serve multiple physiological functions. Many approaches can temporarily reduce nasal discomfort, but persistent or recurring nasal issues often require attention to the underlying constitution and functional pattern. Chinese medicine considers nasal concerns in relation to constitutional weakness, lung and spleen imbalance, and environmental irritants. Treatment therefore emphasizes both presenting symptoms and underlying root causes, planned to address both root and branch, with constitutional support alongside care for the nasal passages. The constitutional-support method combines specially prepared herbal formulations with a gentle topical application to the turbinate tissue lining the nasal passage, supporting mucosal renewal so that healthy turbinate function is gradually restored and the passage clears. Root treatment may include Chinese herbal strategies to support lung qi, strengthen spleen function, clear heat-toxin patterns and improve constitutional resilience. External Chinese medicine methods may also be used for suitable cases, applying carefully prepared herbal materials to support the nasal mucosa and improve nasal airflow. This approach is intended for concerns such as allergic rhinitis, hypertrophic mucosal inflammation and nasal polyps, where symptoms may include congestion, sneezing, post-nasal drip and throat irritation.
